Oracle Data Integrator 12c - Creating ODI Master and Work Repositories using Repository Creation Utility (RCU)

RCU can be used to create or to drop repositories. Below are the steps to create repository.

1. Navigate to $MW_HOME/oracle_common/bin and launch RCU.

$ ./rcu

2. Welcome page appears.Click Next.

3. On the Create Repository page, select Create Repository -> System Load and Product Load (default). This will 

require DBA privileges such as the user SYS or SYSTEM would have. Click Next.

Other options you see under Create Repository are:

- Prepare Scripts for System Load (Create scripts for DBA to run later)
- Perform Product Load (System Load scripts have been run by DBA)

You can also see an option Drop Repository to remove components schemas from a database. This is covered in separate 

post. 

4. On the Database Connection Details page, enter DB host/IP details, Listener Port, Service Name, Username such as SYS and Password. The Role will change automatically as you type a Username.  Click Next. RCU checks for pre 

requisites.

5. On the Select Components page, select Oracle Data Integrator. Selecting that one line item will automatically 

select several other components (you should see check box ticked). You can create a new prefix eg: DEV as needed. 

Click Next.

6. On Schema Passwords page, specify the passwords for the schemas.Click next.

7. On Custom Variables page, specify passwords for Supervisor, work respository and confirm them again. Also 

specifyc Work Respository Type & Name. Click Next.

8. On Map Tablspaces page, default and temporary tablespaces for selected components appear. Click Next.

9. Summary Page appears. click Next.

10. Confirmation Page appears. You may view rcu.log file and other individual component log files.
